2012 DA14 is a near earth asteroid with an estimated diameter of about 45 meters and an estimated mass of about 130,000 metric tons.[3] It was discovered on February 23, 2012, by the OAM Observatory, La Sagra in Spain (J75)[1] seven days after passing 0.0174 AU (2,600,000 km; 1,620,000 mi) from Earth on February 16.[2] Calculations show that on February 15, 2013, the distance between the asteroid and Earth will be 0.09 LD (35,000 km; 21,000 mi).[4]

The Tunguska event was an enormously powerful explosion that occurred near (and later struck) the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, at about 7:14 a.m. KRAT (0:14 UT) on June 30 [O.S. June 17], 1908.[1][2][3] The explosion, having the epicenter (60.886°N, 101.894°E), is believed to have been caused by the air burst of a large meteoroid or comet fragment at an altitude of 5–10 kilometres (3–6 mi) above the Earth's surface. Different studies have yielded widely varying estimates of the object's size, on the order of 100 metres (330 ft).[4] It is the largest impact event on or near Earth in recorded history.[5]

FACT : High Earth Orbit satellites are above 22240 miles or 35786 km.

This asteroid will dart through our satellites orbital distance.
This projection is precisely calculated by JPL lab scientists and they're pretty much sure that it won't hit the earth surface.
BUT, If it were to hit Earth, it is estimated that it would produce the equivalent of 2.4 megatons of TNT.[3] The Tunguska event has been estimated at 3−20 megatons.[9]
It won't be extinction level of threat, but if it did impact on populated area, consequence would be unimaginable. We'll know about it's precise route and calculation in coming days.
Lets hope it just be the night sky show.
