There is no visa named just 'H1', rather 'H' types visas are categorized into 'H1B', 'H1B1' etc. 'H1B' is visa for skilled, trained/educated workers, with minimum of undergraduate degree. If you have an undergraduate degree, & a job in a degree related field , your employer can apply for H1B visa for you. Employment opportunities are based on your degree or if you can link your education with the job are seeking. Business degree holders can have jobs even in IT field, Architecuts degree holder could work in Civil Engineering sector and so on.
