I was hoping against the hope that Nepal as a nation would learn from this barbaric incident. I just want highlight the role of so called Nepali Owned Media in the run up to this barbaric incident. Kantipur had virtually stopped printing anything on the Hostage situation. If you look at last Monday's paper you will know what I mean. The news about about Girija being stopped at the airport was selling more and there you go, it was all about the Girija and him being stopped at the airport and the strike called by Nepali congress. Even Bijay Kumar and his well received Dishanirdesh was dedicated to this stupid incident with Mohd Mohsin. That was a sheer distraction from the larger issue at hand. After incident, since the last two days in a news starved environment of Kathmandu, both Kantipur and Channel Nepal was full of losses incurred to their properties and lined up a spectacle of opinions leaders (politicians, police officers, pseudo human right leaders) to bereave thier situation and gave a minimal coverage to far more grave losses incurred to other businesses. (Qatar Airways is unsure about resuming flights to Nepal. Today QA is the only decent airlines connecting Nepal to the rest of western world .) There was absolutely no mention of these grave incidents. Do you know that even Khetan owned Mayos Noodles Headquartere was badly damaged and so was a Newar owned Motor Cycle show room, and korean shop with losses incurred to about 2 crores Finally, this bunch of Media leaders in Kantipur and Channel Nepal/ Space Time should demote themselves top the role of Peons for thier Marwari/ Kashmiri/ BahunBosses.
