A lot of universities now offer mixed courses that provide, classroom and virtual learning. Even if you join traditional universitiesm, you can  take virtual classes. My experience with the online hasnot been good. Most of the work focuses on discussions. Instructors just post  powerpoint slides and expect students to understand them, rather than lecturing. Most companies even dont accept online degress. There was a Frontline show about University of Phoenix on PBS, you should look in to that too. And finally, if you are a international student on F1, you cant just take online classes.
