Bittertruth, thanks for your input.  We are not debating whether King Birendra was good or his brother King Gyanendra.   There are very subjective arguments about both brothers and equal likes and dislikes. While Birendra gave power to the politicians and created mess that started war in the nation, Gyanendra inherited a war and political mess that his brother had created. At the same time, it seems like Birendra gave up power easily in 1990 but Gyanendra wanted to take it back. But again, why did Gyanendra prove everyone wrong of his accusation of power hungry man by giving up power so easily? There are several scenarios one could be completely wrong in analysis. For example, King Gyanendra's sacking of the parliament.....was it a good step or a bad step? What would you have done if you were him? Was King Birendra's introduction to constitutional monarchy a good thing for Nepal or bad choice? Would he have given up power in 1990 if he could foresee the present mess?
