Yeti plane makes emergency landing at Pokhara airport after 'bird hit'

An aircraft of Yeti Airlines made an emergency landing at Pokhara airport "after being hit by a bird" soon after take-off from the airport.

According to Laxman Gurung, an official at Yeti's Pokhara office, said the plane made emergency landing five minutes after take-off at 3:39 pm. "It might be a bird hit as blood stains are found in the body of the aircraft," Gurung told Nepalnews, "Investigation is going on right now."

He said all 26 passengers and three crew members on board are safe. He also claimed there was "no such damage to the plane" that was flying to Kathmandu.

The accident comes just three days after a deadly crash of Sita Air plane at Manahara in Bhaktapur which is believed to have been caused by a bird hit. All 19 people on board were killed in the accident.
