Ya, US Basketball has been exposed!! I would disagree that if for some bigger names were to be in the squad, the team would have gotten gold. The team already has enormous amount of talent and if they were fundamentally strong they wouldn't be struggling this hard. The problem with US basketball is that it is built around too much hype and showmanship. US still has the most atheletic and talented players in the world but they lack team players, which is so essential when it comes to playing a team sport. NBA players constantly whine about not getting enough touches ....being the man..yada yada yada....US basketball needs some big time structure change...or else it wouldn't make champions..Remember when Jordan came to league..he couldn't shoot..but he could do so much..but he worked on it..and in the 90's he made sure he got all his teamates involved and as result won so many championships...so players like Carmelo Anthony and lot of the younger players should learn the game before spitting premature comments like....they are gonna get guaranteed GOLD. Flaws in US Team Sport: SaveEarth: Couldnt agree more when you said..how Americans proclaim to be World Champs...when someone wins their "National League"...thats just ridiculous.. * 66% of NHL players last year were Canadians...so pretty much most of the better players in NHL are Canadians.then Europeans and lastly Americans. * US failed to qualify for baseball..he what happened to national pass time???? BUt likes of Japan who are providing good ball players to MLB since last few years might have as good as of league as Americans do...so stop calling urself WORLD CHAMPS...first qualify!! * NFL..ok where else is it played? states and some parts of Europe..get those Russians and former CCCR countries involved..lot of people in NFL will be losing their jobs..hehe
