Immigration and Poverty

Interesting Video....But one thing the professor undermines is the effect of one immigrant to his family back home. I actually did some college research paper on this topic while i was in college. We talked to few immigrants from somalia and sudan and found out that one immigrant to the first world is at least making a difference of 5 - 20 people back home directly and those 5 - 20 people were effecting another possible 100 people in thier community. So the million immigrant could be effecting 100 million other people in their world directly or indirectly.

The professor is correct however in terms of first world bringing in the "cream" of the country. The "creams" are more focused on their own life rather than making a difference to people back home. Their families are usually well off back home and these are more likely to bring their money/wealth from poverty striken country then add any value to the community he is from.

In my opinion Immigration could help reduce extreme poverty if right people were given chance. Immigration does not happen because the first world wants to make a difference in the third world. It happens because they want cheap labor and they are getting it from cheaper places.

The politics however says we are doing it for the good of human beings whiles its done all for the profit.
