Your advantage is that you have visitor's visa to Australia. You should not heistate to meet your family because of fear of visa rejection. You have earned your H1b through a direct hire. Usually the interview question is, " How did you get your job ? ". Yeah there will always be a doubt, but nothing will overcome the joy of visiting parents after a long time.  
Karishma: election, economy, change in government etc. type of thing have nothing to do with you obtaining the H1b Visa. If you are confident about your job, you will get the visa entry back to the United States.
