WOW Nepali newspapers can lie a lot. I know Bharat Rawal personally and I know exactly what happened.
Bharat Rawal was called in from Apollo Delhi about 15 years ago, and has been a part of Norvic since. Now here are the facts as per the chain of events to the best of my knowledge:
First, no one can operate for 15 years without a license.
Second, yes his license was up for renewal.
Third, he treated Surya Bahadur Thapa to the capacity of a cardiologist.
Fourth, Thapa made good remarks about the good doctor.
Fifth, other political leaders (I do not know who all) did not see the treatment of Thapa as a good gesture, and blocked his renewal.
He has not treated any of his patents since .
Perhaps (I am not sure of this) he made a call or two as everyone does in Nepal to get his license back.
Finally, yes he is a good doctor and a very good person. Though from India he has served Nepal well.
