Today is Monday. I would imagine that in any other country the news that three of its top ex-policemen have been slapped with corruption charges, and that all three of them have absconded would have made news and lots of follow-up news . . . keeping the public informed about this very disturbing development. But except for a lone Rajesh KC cartoon, today's Kantipur national daily -- like its edition yesterday -- does NOT have a single follow-up news since the news was first made public on Saturday morning. So, where are these ex-IGPs? What do their ex-colleagues, neighbors and friends have to say about them? What are their family members doing? Why are they running away from the law? How was it possible for them to amass such huge amounts of wealth? What is the 'supply side' (i.e. the source) of ghoos? What happens to the charges if they remain at large? What is CIAA's strategy for starting trials against them? And on and on. Enquiring readers want to know. oohi ashu
