Well written and I am glad chivalry still exists. With us adapting more and more towards the western culture we have forgotten the respect and love that our parents deserve.

PeaceSoul, I am sure your heart is in the right place, but the criticism isn't warranted. Mentioning one's father only doesn't mean neglecting his/her mother's contributions. The poem is written for a special occasion, his dad's passing away, and hence dedication to his dad is completely just. When you go to a funeral, you say nice things about the person, his/her spouse shouldn't feel left out; right?
