As Meghna stepped out of her new Hyundai i10 that was given to her as a gift by her father, she looked at Rabin who was driver Krishne's son. Krishne and his family had been living in the servant quarter at Meghna's house for over 3 decades since Krishne started working for her father, who was one of the most influencial business tycoon in Nepal having single ownership of Samaya Group. Krishne had 3 sons, all of whom became defacto drivers for the Samaya Group extended family.

Meghna recenly joined St Xaviers College for her Intermediate Levels after finishing her high school. She had wanted to go to America like all her cousin brothers but her father wanted her to finish her Intermediate level before going abroad. On top of that she was his only child and he wanted her at home as long as he was able to keep her.

She looked at Rabin through the rearview mirror and said "Don't wait for me. I 'll call you if I need a ride."

Rabin had grown up in his mama ghar in Chitwan and used to come to Kathmandu to visit his family few times a year. Now that he was 22, he could fully serve the Samaya family so his father Krishne told him to move permanently. Even the servant quarter of the Samaya family was better than most housing facilities in Kathmandu. There were 23 people living in the servant quarter which had east and west wing. The east wing was connected to the main Samaya residence via a garden where even the grass was maintained 365 days a year. The Samaya residence also had an underground power generator room that worked in coordination with solar power generator and few inverters to ensure that there was electricity at the Samaya residence 24 hours a day. The underground generator was never heard by anyone due to the soundproof generator room that was under the care of one of the Residence's part time employee Bivek Mishra who had an engineering degree from Bangalore. Even the servant quarter enjoyed 24 hours running electricity and water.

Meghna was a beautiful girl. She had a very silky hair that danced with her movements. She was 5'5 tall, little taller than the average Nepali girl. She was lean and athletic with ample size bossoms. Her friends swarmed all over her presence since she was the girl who had everything. Many boys used to travel few miles on their bicycles or public transportation to get a glimpse of her. Inspite of being center of attention wherever she went, she preferred secluded gatherings away from too many people. She rarely attended parties thrown by her father. Rather, she would invite few of her best friends and hang out in her room. She was a quiet person by nature. Noone could guess what was in her mind. Her friends use to tease her for her poker face expression. Due to her bringing up in different parts of the world she had to break connections with many people from her schools, hence she had become very good at controlling her emotions. Her father had made her go to self defense classes since she was 6 and now it had become a routine in her life.

Her room was huge. It was more like a suite with pseudo separated bed area, study area, play area and attached victorian style bathroom. Every day, the housemaid Parvati came and cleaned her room so it always looked sparkling clean.

Her father Bikram Dev, had started off as a humble employee at the Golchha Industries when he was young. Within few years he had learnt the ropes and the system enough to migrate to europe and then to the US where by learning the system, he was able to amass millions. He was very good at the stock market too, which he used to increase his wealth 100 folds since he was in the right place at the right time. His wealth was said to be in the pheriphery of few billion dollars. It is believed that once he reached his first billion he decided to come back to Nepal to raise his family in the Nepalese tradition.

Her mother Poonam was a very lovely and strong willed woman. It was Poonam's strong sensibility combined with Bikram's business savvy that led them to the success of the Samaya Conglomerate. Poonam was born and brought up in the US in a very strict Nepalese household. All of her friends and family were in the US so Poonam had a very hectic time travelling back and forth from Nepal and US. At Bikram's suggestion, she had been living in the US most of the time and visiting Nepal every year.

Meghna missed her mom terribly. She loved her mom more than anything in the world because she had learnt to love from her mom. She video chatted with Poonam every day and even in the weekends.

Rabin adjusted his rearview mirror and watched Meghna step out of the car into the hustle bustle of Thamel. She had gone to celebrate her friends birthday at one of the acclaimed restaurants  in Thamel, the Fire and Ice. Parikshya had turned 19 and would be leaving for UK in a weeks time so her friends were giving her a farewell party.

Meghna stepped out of the car and walked towards Fire and Ice. There was a longing feeling of separation within her. Part of her wanted to get out of Nepal and a part of her wanted to stay. Whenever any of her friends would be leaving the country, the longing feeling of separation would nauseate her and make it difficult for her to breathe for few seconds. The doorman at Fire and Ice gave her a customary salute, while his friend sitting in a chair next to him couldn't take his eyes off Meghna. She was georgeous in every way. There was some sort of peacefulness in her eyes that calmed the onlookers.

"Maggie?" someone called out to her. She looked in the direction and saw a couple dressed in formal clothes. They appeared to be foreigners, possibly Americans. Meghna was called "Maggie" by most of her friends so she was surprised that these strangers knew her by her nickname. "Hi can I help you? " She said.

The man looked like he was about 40 years old. About 6ft tall wearing a black suit and looking very official. The woman looked about 30ish wearing a brown silky dress with long black skirt. "Hi Maggie, we had received your application so we decided to give you a surprise interview." As soon as she heard that, she could feel the tingle in the back of her head.

Three months back, Meghna was browsing some career website and entered all her information and statistics. There was even an aptitute test as well as multiple answers test that she had to take. It may have been a fluke of nature that the website evaluated her personality and skills to be a fit for a career in secret service! In her profile she had checked 'Yes' to be contacted by interested employers.

Little did she know that the US Central Intelligence Agency would be interested in her profile since she was born in the US, and fit the profile to become an operative operating out of Nepal. Nepal was a hotspot of information as it lay between an all powerful China and the up and coming India. The US Department of Homeland Security along with the Central Intelligence Agency relied on a core group of people who gathered intelligence information and passed on to the agency datagrid.

"You can call me Tim." the man in black suit said. The woman chimed in "Hi I'm Tina." Tina came forward and held her hand. "Sorry we didn't mean to dramatize but wanted to get in touch with you." She took out an inconspicious looking card and handed to Meghna. "Give us a call next week and we can meet up formally."

They left as suddenly as they had appeared. Meghna walked inside to the restaurant to see her friends making a toast.
