I have few questions regarding H1B and GC.

 

My company is willing to file both H1b and GC for me. I am in opt now and will expire on Oct 2012(already extended). finished my MS in computer science so can file in EB2 category.

 

is it a good idea to file GC directly or file H1B first and then GC?

 

I really want to do GC directly. if I file GC straight and my OPT expire while GC in process, will I be out of status or will I be on OPT status with EAD until the decision on GC?
