If you want to use internet make sure you take phone from same carrier or factory unlocked (which is hard to find in US market) .
Look for some galaxy s phone they are preety awesome and affordable. (Captivate for att and galaxy s 4g for tmobile). I  dont recommend iphone for anyone. Htc touch screen sucks after 6 month.
