I don't care who is more famous in the US than somebody else. At the end of the day what is more important to me is, if I am satisfied with my life or not.

But, if any of you are undergoing sleepless nights, baffled by this trivial question of, who is/are the most famous individual(s) currently residing in America. Then here it goes, based on what comes to my mind right now.

Broadly speaking, there are two categories of "Most famous Nepalis in US".
The first category consists of people who are recognizable among fellow Nepalese ONLY.
The second category consists of people whose names hit the major news media outlets, Guiness Book of World Records, annually recorded almanacs, searchable google news headlines, and can be identified even by non-Nepalese people.

Examples of people who fall in the first category could be people whom we know because we frequently see their faces on the photo albums on Sajha. Another example of people could be a few who have attended hard-to-get in schools, or are members of a local Nepali band or a former Nepali band, or yester-years Kollywood actors/actresses, or Nepali folk or pop artists. Strange but true, the owner of Sajha.com or even Anuj Baba could fall into this category or the individuals who infest Sajha.com. However, Saroj Khanal who still make Kollywood flicks from time to time, arguably, can be dubbed the Marlon Brando of Nepal. (Watch his star vehicle called Maun Aakash in which he plays a character with speech disability. He was quite brilliant in that one.)

A very very few people who fall in the second category could rightly be individuals such as Prabal Gurung, Apa Sherpa, AND All-American TV personality Kiran Chetry. AND that's it.
