Religion is not to be blamed. Its my personal opinion but I think all the religious books are like constitution in the old days. They didn't had many officers to enforce the law, so they try to scare the people who break the law with all the nonsense. Most of the religious books are trying to maintain order and at the same time trying to discourage the revolution, same thing a constitution does.
