केहि साथीहरुले कुरो उठाई हाल्नु भयो, नत्र तलको बिषय यो थ्रेडमा अलिक सान्दर्भिक नहोला...जहाँ सम्म हुलका हुल भारतीयहरु नेपाल पस्न चाहने कुरा छ, consider this:

Economic growth rate: Nepal (around 4%); India (around 8%); Bihar (because it affects Nepal the most, 11%!). Bihar's growth rate was second only to Gujarat in India!

Unemployment rate: Nepal (over 40%!!!); India (around 9%); Bihar (around 25%)

I do not have the exact figures on migration, so I could be wrong on this. However, if one goes by the figures above -- all else being equal -- it would be illogical to think that Indians would want to migrate en masse to Nepal. Rather, it should be the other way around. By some reports, indeed, there are about 6-7 lakhs Nepalis working in India. I am not sure if that figure includes seasonal workers too; if not, the number can be much, much higher.

"_____" has already explained well why India need not rely on the "Madheshi" factor to infiltrate Nepali state apparatus -- they already have enough (parhaps more than they themselves desire!) influence over every Nepali institutions that they deem necessary via other means. नेपाली सेनामा RAW घुसाई घुसाई, जाबो ९ (पिपा) देखि ३० (जरसाप) हजार नेपाली रुपैंयाको तलब ख्वाई ख्वाई उनेरु त्यो घाँडो के सहन्थे? "जाबो" in terms of the pay scale of the Indian Army, which is about the same as that of Nepal Army, only that it is in Indian Rupees.

Same goes to -- what I see as totally unfounded -- the theory of the so-called "Sikkimization" of Nepal. It may be true that a weak Nepal under it's total control may benefit India's interests. As it is, the Indians already have enough easy influence and control over Nepali affairs. In this context, I don't think they themselves believe it would be wise to annex Nepal and add another 40+ ethnic groups (that too, highly restive and brave...and I mean it!) to it's already ethnic-conflict-ridden socio-political frame. This, apart from the fact that annexation of Nepal would not dwell well with Chinese foreign policy makers either.

Exploitation of weaker states by the stronger ones for the latters' own interests is the number one thumb rule of international affairs. It is the unchangeable REALITY. If not India, there would be other countries vying to exploit a weak and helpless Nepal. So, भारत को influence न्यून गर्न सक्नु realistic goal हुन्छ. भारतलाई ढाल्ने होइन कि, उ संग अस्तित्व र सम्मान मा समान हुन सक्नु पर्छ.

भारत को "भ" वा ईन्डियाको "ई" सुन्ने बित्तिकै आकाशै खस्न ला' झैं गरि, ब्रह्माण्डको प्रलय नै हुन ला' झैं गरि, बौलाहा कुकुर झैं जथाभावी च्यांठेर भुकेर केई नाप्दैन. त्यसरी अज्ञानता र अर्थहीन बलको आड लिए आफैलाई हानी...आफ्नै प्रेस्सर मात्रै बढ्ने, आफ्नै श्वर र तागतको सत्त्यानाश, आफैँ उल्लु ठहरिने, अनि आफ्नो लक्ष्य प्रतिको उपलब्धि, जिरो! आफु सहि रुपमा बलियो भए पो आफ्नो leverage बढ्छ. अनि यो बल मुढे बलको कुरा होइन... संयमका साथ बुद्धि र बिवेक प्रयोग गरि अगाडी बढ्नु पर्छ.

अन्त्यमा...कुनै पनि राष्ट्र बलियो हुनु भनेको उसको सिमा भित्र रहेका सम्पूर्ण जनताको EQUAL TREATMENT हो. बिशेष गरि हाम्रो जस्तो बहुजाति, बहुभाषी, बुहु-सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रमा, हरेकको भेष, भुषा, भाषा, संस्कृतिलाई सहर्ष स्वीकार्न सक्नुमा नै हाम्रो हामीले चिताएको भन्दा बढी कल्याण हुन्छ. राष्ट्रिय एकताको नाममा एक समुहको पहिचान अरु माथि लादेर उसको अपहेलना गर्नु (जसरी पंचायत कालले प्रयास गर्यो) महा भुल हुन्छ. हरेकले एक अर्का को अस्तित्वलाई बिना प्रश्न अंगाल्नु पर्छ, ताकि हरेकले नेपाली हुँ भनेर गर्भ गर्न सकोस! चाहे धोति-कुर्ता लगाउन, वा दौरा सुरुवाल, वा बखखु....चाहे हिन्दी, मैथिली, नेपाली, वा अन्य कुनै जनजाती भाषा बोलुन...राष्ट्रियता भनेको भावना हो, बाहिर देखिने पहिरन वा बोली होइन! यसरी भावनामा जग गाढेको राष्ट्रिय एकता को जगेर्ना होस्...अनि हेरुम्ला हामी पनि भारतले होस या संसार को कुनै पनि अरु राष्ट्रले नेपाललाइ हेपेको!!!!!!
