A short real story about delhi airport

I had a similar situation a year and half ago. They tried to suck out dollars from me and threatened to stop me from boarding the plane if I do not pay for the extra weight. Long story short...DO NOT BE THREATENED BY THESE SUCKERS...THEY WILL JUST LET YOU GO AT THE END....but you do have to fight with 4/5 people for hours. Paying them will just encourage them to do the same to many other Nepalese.

They kept sending new people to talk to me. I kept asking for their manager. At the end I was taken to an office room to a manager. I asked for a call to Contentinental in the US (as they had told me my luggage were cleared to be picked up in KTM). They did not put me through. I was told again that if I don't pay I won't get the boarding pass. I fought with them and asked for my boarding pass...told them to do whatever they want with my luggage but wanted my luggage back when I land in KTM. I had to threaten them back on certain grounds.

If you even show slight signs that you are scared by their threats, they will pressure you even more. At the end they let me go saying my travel agent paid for my extra luggage, which was a lie.  They will let you go but you need to continue to fight back till the end.

There was a similar situation with a Nepalese guy travelling next to me on my way back from KTM. The guy was a little scared as they thretened to send him back to KTM.  He was reaching out for his wallet to pay for the extra weight. I stopped him from paying and helped fight for him. We had to fight with them until about 20 mins before the flight but they let us go away without paying.

Bottom line--don't get scared and DO NOT PAY THEM...if you find them threatning other Nepalese, HELP THEM FIGHT AGAINST THESE SUCKERS...I worry about first time Nepalese Travelers (especially, new students to US and some of our parents who haven't seen the outside world and can't speak English)....They are their major targets...Help them in Delhi if you see them in these situations...We need to discourage these kinds of activity...Paying them will just encourage them....
