@ grgdai I know what you meant. We dont like to be called Indian for sure and how would you explain sb not to call you an Indian ? No offense brother but if are a mongolian and somebody calls you chinese, you have tonns of point to tell them why you are not chinese (beside the fact you were born in Nepal and you hold/used tohold Nepali passport). You can tell them the diffference about our culture esp. language, religion, food and the ancient civilization. But if we compare those aspects with that of Indian, its pretty much the same.
so my question: Having so many things in common, why do we act/try to act we are so different from Indians? At least we shouldnot be offended when sb calls us an Indian. In my college, there were not any Nepali and just couple ABCDEFG girls. I used to tell my frens we are totally different from Indians. The funny thing is when we had conversation about anything in a group, almost all the things about me and those girls were similar. Like when i talk about a specific food, game (we used to play as a child), or even just a perspective about sth, they would be like "Oh Yeah, I know that, We did that" I liked those girls and they were cool as cucumbers but I had hard time establishing and proving the differences between Indian and Nepali culture among my freinds ( white & black). Those freinds told used to tell me culture, people and everything looks same to them. Just to make me mad, they used to call me sometime "Indian" and I used to give them a lecture for quite a while.
