First thing first: a) After 1960 only South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan (questionable) became first world (where total output is surplus) and all of them had one man show (Military dictatorship in S. Korea), Li Quan Wu in Singapore, British non elected system in Hongkong and one man show (Chiang Kai Sek and his family) in Taiwan. NONE OF THEM HAD TO MANAGE AN ACTIVE MONARCHY. Malaysia does have a rotating monarchy, but that's pretty close to republicanism. Before you can aspire for a commoner 'strong' man--Chairman Prachanda for example--join the Maoists.
