I am writing some suggestions, which do not need computers and use very less power.
1. Google voice-phone (good price ~$40, comparable to Vonage except some reduced functions whic you would never use, e.g. 911 and calling Europe, Australia etc. Canada and US numbers are free, a google voice service)
2. ooma hub (good price ~$120, not sure if it works in Nepal. No monthly fees required, if you buy an older model)
3. Skype phone (good price ~$50-70)
I have been using the third one for over 3 years, but I would go with #1, if I had to get one today.
