Jordan was held to a 1-1 draw by Nepal in the return leg of their World Cup qualifier at the Dashrath Rangsala Stadium on Thursday, but easily advanced thanks to its 9-0 rout in the first leg.

Nepal, which was thrashed in Aman last week, lifted its game in front of the home crowd to ensure a goalless first half.

Jordan finally went ahead in the 62nd minute when midfielder Saeed Morja found the mark.

Nepal continued its spirited display and equalized through veteran striker Bharat Khawas.

The 41-year-old Khawas, who was brought in as a substitute in the 66th minute, scored in the 80th minute much to the delight of spectators.

Jordan advances to the third round of Asia's World Cup qualifiers.
