It all depends upon the luck bro. Most important thing is that you should provide a strong financial standing and make them sure that your are not potential immigrant and will return after the completion of your study. I had gone through the similar situation last April. My wife applied for F2 and she got visa without much questioned asked. I didn't even had a scholarship and had to pay 8k every semester out of my pocket. The documents I provided were as follow
- Enrollment verification letter from the university
- F1 and F2 i-20
- Receipt from my previous tuition bill payments
- Recommendation letters stating that i am a good student
- Small album containing about 25 pictures
- Marriage registration certificate and Relation ship verification from ward. office
- Bank balance, source of income and other financial assets
