Well, there might have been some odd cases that based upon someone's last names someone would have denied into NA or then RNA. But, I do not think NA or then RNA has such norms in practice nor there wasany leagal provision which bars a nepali citizen to become soldier of NA.

Before blaming NA or RNA, Madeshi people need to ask themselves how many of them had actually applied and how many of them got rejected? I bet stats will show otherwise and only handful of madeshi people would have applied. The issues here is not about NA, it is more about choice of profession of particular ethnic group- some ethnic group are comfortable with particular profession- eg, there are hell lot of madeshi in Medicine (Doctor) and Engineering profession and needless to mention the motivation of madeshi towards these profession. Similarly, [Disallowed String for - castist references disallowed]s have been good in trade and business, bramhin are attracted towards leadership and civil service position, gurng's first choice is BA, if not HK A or Singapore A, or I A  and then only NA, and Chettri likes NA. ( "laure hoina bhane chori dinna" culture is still there in Sikhles, Ghandruk and major gurung basti. Some of gurung girl friends are battling with this kind of culture)

One should not forget the general physical anatomy of each of our caste.  NA or Army profession do need certain kind of physical build up, mental toughness and utmost honesty. So, terain people who are making hue and cry over not being able to be NA does not really make sense. Basically in divided society, which has become hihgly ethnic and individualist and where collective social value system is shredded into pieces, no matter what you do, you will not make them satisfied. Tomorrow, if you take 10000 in NA from madeshi and if they deployed in war zone, they will still make politics out of it . " Hami madeshi bhayera yo pahariya le hamilai war zone ma marna pathayo". so there is no end of this sort of mentality. So stop making these kind of nonsensical argument.

So, NO ARAKCHYAN BASED ON ETHNICITY-  IF AT ALL, YES ARAKCHYAN BASED ON ECONOMIC DEPRAVITY in any profession!
