There are mixed reactions when you tell people you meet socially about what you do, and sometimes it can get you down when people are dismissive or derisive of your trade. Have you ever experienced this?
In some circles calling yourself a programmer is a win but some times it is equivalent to a social suicide. You might be the "IT hero" of your circle, Its not surprizing when people label you as "he just works with the computers.. boring!!"
If you are a "code-monkey" or an "IT-geek" tell everybody what you do.. and heck ya post your webpage link (no spam please).
