A couple of questions before I start off:
Am I glad bin Laden is dead? Absolutely, Yes! But could it have been done different that would make US look better in the eyes of the world? A resounding "Yes" again!

Western powers are headed more and more by younger leaders. The downside to that is these green-horns lack the kind of wisdom only older age can bring. Remember Sarah Palin Governor-turned-Reality-Star-turned-Tea-Party-Leader who was almost a heart-beat away from the Presidency. That was a moment a lot of rational people started questioning the merits of a Democracy. Young people like Obama and Palin are individuals who have potential to shape the contemporary World History. Thank to the ill-informed majority of people who can elect these candidates to the most powerful office in the world just based on face value. No wonder Socrates, one of the wisest men who ever lived, had argued that " the only opinion that counts is not that of the majority of people generally, but rather that of the one individual who truly knows. The truth alone deserves to be the basis for decisions about human action, so the only proper apporoach is to engage in the sort of careful moral reasoning by means of which one may hope to reveal it."

Now that bin Laden is killed, Obama does not want to release the photos. The way the Osama case was executed and handled might not have a desired result. First of, there could be terrorist reprisals. Secondly, Obama's election mandate of working with the rest of the world in a harmonious understanding has been quite undermined because of his forceful raid of a compound located inside a non-war zone of a reluctant partner where even the locals honestly opine that Osama should have been taken alive. When you ignore seemingly little guys like those we have seen what can come out of it. Thirdly, for God's sake did Obama already forget that he accepted the Nobel for Peace. I love America but visionary leaders and thinkers like Ron Paul and Ralph Nader get the back seat while media promotes breeds of leaders like Palin, Bush and Obama.

Even George W. Bush did a better job with the handling of Saddam Hussein capture and sentencing saga. It was Christmas Season of  2006 when Saddam was executed. Come January, Bush promptly asked Congress for more Budget funding for Iraq. Osama's international legal right as a human being might have been denied while the world watches. As you can see, leading by example is something getting rarer by the day.
