SC issues summon order to graft tainted former minister Khadka - Another Corrupt who should be behind bar.

The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday reopened the corruption case against former Home Minister Khum Bahadur Khadka and asked government authorities to present him before the court within the next fifteen days to face corruption charges. A division bench of Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha and Justice Sushila Karki issued such an order terming the four year old Special Court decision to close the case against Khadka "unlawful". The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has accused Khadka of illegally amassing properties worth over Rs 23 million during his several terms as minister. On March 17, the SC had slapped another graft tainted former minister and NC leader Chiranjivi Wagle one-and-half-year jail sentence along with a fine of Rs. 20.3 million, convicting him in massive corruption during his multiple terms as minister.
