I think, this issue is little bit off-topic here. JP Malla was not popular due to several reasons, some were his bad policies, some were his own enemies from his family (his wife was against him, who helped PN Shah, and was later killed), and some were bad-luck of him. He also faced armed revolt, and had lost power several times. Because of all those adversities, he was a weak king of the time. Also, for the note, I am not saying JP Malla was a good king. I have never written anything comparing JP Malla Vs PN Shah.

The questions like "what would have been if bengal had won, or british had taken or china had captured" are hypothetical. We need to appreciate PN Shah for his good works, and denounce for his wrong doing.

Sadly I have to say, this was not the case in Nepal. We have witnessed systematic domination, we have found planned conspiracy to eradicate "matwaali and gair-khas bhasha". There are recovered documentations mentioning "jaali fatahaaharuko bhasha namasyaa samma ....", which you may get a copy from the university library doing research on Nepal's history.

"I do not believe Newars are underprivileged"
Compared to others, Newars had enjoyed some privilege. However, Newars do have their woes and hurts that come out at times.

"Despite blaming anyone and past, join politics and do right things. Change system. We are here to support you, not everyone is jaundiced by racism."
