Unlike many of us Nepalese, at least Devi Prasad Regmi will have the joy of dying with some pride because he took a stand and made a statement.

Devi Prasad Regmi is a self-respecting man. And any self-respecting person will only tolerate injustice to himself for so long before he feels the need to react.
Rosa Parks, a black lady, decided not to give her seat to a white person in Montgomery, Alabama, because she was a self-respecting person who found that the system disrespected her. People found courage from her action....enough courage to take a stand and bring civil rights reforms to the United States.

There is a civilized system in a society. There is a political process. There is a justice system. And sometimes when a citizen of a nation feels that they will not get the justice that they deserve, and get tired of the injustices meted to them day after day after day, then someone like Devi Prasad Regmi or Rosa Parks, decides to bypass all the redtape and the bureacracy and the bullshit, and in a direct way, makes a statement about the state of a nation. And in a nation where words are many, and action is few, it makes a large statement.
After all, this is what the Maoists tried to do in a grandscale. They bypassed the political process and took on a military stand. The Maoists used the barrel of the gun and Devi Prasad Regmi used the back of his hand. In a nation where the justice system has gone to pieces, this is what you have to do to get justice for yourself.
