Dear Bijay and Tulasi jee,
First of all, I would like to appreciate your work.
You can use the footage. Needless to say, you will clearly mention COCAP’s name as a resource in your film.
Good luck!
Best,
Madhab

RE: Documentary Archival Footage.
Dear Madhav Ji:
I am a Nepali student at Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
Since 2005, I have been filming Nepal’s Maoists’ insurgency, citizens’ movement with a particular focus on human rights struggle and issues in Nepal. Currently, I am in the post-production stage of the one and half hour long documentary film titled – Beneath Everest.
Beneath Everest, schedule to be released in July 2009, intends to advocate for the Nepal’s human rights and to contribute in the peace process. The film will particularly stress on the non-violent approaches in the social justice movements.
We have come across the COCAP produced short documentary entitled “ Aandolan Jaari Chha” and also the compiled clips from the street protests titled as“ Jhalak”.
As Bijay K Son, one of our members of our crew, has forwarded our request to your attention earlier, if possible, we want use few minutes (two to three minutes) of the footage from your productions stated above.
As the director and producer of Beneath Everest, I would like to request for your permission to ‘use’ about two to three minutes of the footage from your production. I assure you that we will give the credit for COCAP for its support in our film. Also, we will make a reasonable compensation as a contribution to COCAP upon our capacity.
I am very optimistic that COCAP would grant my request and encourage us for the common cause of human rights and peace.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Since we are at the crucial stage of the editing, I would highly appreciate your response at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely Yours’
