US Ambassador to Nepal Scott H DeLisi on Wednesday requested Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala not to doubt the existing relation between Nepal and the US.
DeLisi met DPM Koirala at the ministry this morning to discuss the possible impact on the diplomatic relation between the two countries following the threat of the whistle-blower Wikileaks, which said it was going to release some 2,600 documents related to Nepal from the US embassy in Kathmandu.
"Ambassador DeLisi expressed his fear that there might be negative impacts on the diplomatic ties between Nepal and America following the Wikileaks' announcement," DPM Koirala told reporters after the meeting.
According to DPM Koirala, she responded to DeLisi that such the diplomatic relation would never deteriorate.
"I assured him that the government is always alert regarding impact on diplomatic relations following the leakage of confidential documents," minister Koirala said
