Coming from a society where information is anything but transparent, I am less than surprised that we see conspiracy in almost anything. In fact, our governments have actively blocked information withou a fail. This was even more brutal back in the days of the monarchy. I remember an explanation given by Gyane for the royal massacre that I watched on NTV back in the day.
"They were sitting at the dining table with M-16 right in the middle of it and having a discussion about something. All of a sudden, the weapon discharged and it went in a circle shooting everyone of the family members".
I could not help but laugh at his stupidity. If such an approch to information transparency does not brew the culture full of conspiracy theories, I don't know what would. I know overwhelming majority in Nepal/Sajha blame Gyane's conspiracy in the royal massacre but I really don't think the guy made it happen. It was what he did (or did not do) after the massacre that led to the conspiracy theories and his eventual fall...
