Homeyji well said, I really enjoyed your analysis, Its true what you wrote but how can we stop being Nepali? Even though people are here for tens of years I believe they hold on to their Nepalipan while trying to adjust living abroad. But in time their kids and then their kids will be a different story I guarantee that. First generation from any ethnic country has this problem, its not only Nepali. There is however a sense of pride from the people who live here but not towards to the ones are who already here but to Nepalese back home, I mean when someone goes home from USA or gets a visa for the states, it is looked upon as a great pride and happiness, little do they know how hard it can be here to survive and succeed. My point is we as a Nepali face critisizm no matter what we do, if we try and hold on the the cultural Nepali tradition and face then people laugh and say " hey Paakhe, you are in America, wake up BE modern, and if we act modern than its called showing off, aba yo ta american bhayo. NOW I guess we should balance the both, which is not hard to do, act certain way around Nepali and certain way around Americans.but we should never forget our roots, tradition and culture. Wait a another ten fifteen or twenty years from , you will see a whole different Nepali future generationspecially who were born here, then you will say our current generation of Nepalese were the best.
