I think most of these acts are nonsensical and meaningless. If someone wants to undertake such endeavor, he should do it out of his own money.

I think a lot of us Nepalis have mastered the begging skill. I once talked to a few friends of mine who are rich and well known for being rich. A friend of mine once told me that he gets 100+ mails/requests/emails each month requesting help in some sort of 'philanthropic act'.

A friend of mine once asked me to give money to his school in a remote district. I also have my own root at a remote district, and when I helped my school (I still do) it never occurred to me that I should be begging with another fellow Nepali to help my school.

In fact, we all should first help our own school, our own village-- and then start helping others if we are good enough financially. If we all help our village, perhaps there will be some really beautiful villages in our  Himalayas.

And I also think it is unfair of those who have no job , no salable skill to claim to try to help others; first one must help himself, his own family--otherwise, those who are claiming to be helping others have ulterior motive of helping themselves.
