Draper locked up for six hours for not giving special treatment to CA member

A draper running a Kurtha Shop in Bagbazaar was locked up in police
custody for six hours for not giving special treatment to a Constituent
Assembly (CA) member who went to his shop as a customer on Sunday,
Nagarik daily reported.

Quoting
eye-witnesses the report says, Nepali Congress (NC) CA member Kalyani
Rijal had gone to Shree Pashupati Kurtha Shop, Bagbazaar around 12 noon
Sunday. She asked if there was a red Kurtha.

The shop owner, Shambhu Shrivastav, who was busy with other customers, replied there was none without looking at the CA member.

The CA member got angry with the draper's treatment and yelled, "don't you know how to treat a customer?"

She got further infuriated as the draper still did not respond to her. "Do you know me? I am CA member." Rijal shouted.

The draper replied, "So what, if you are a CA member?"

Then,
Rijal called the police and reported that she was assaulted. Soon,
police arrived in a van and took the draper to the police station. He
was locked up at the custody of Metropolitan Police Sector, Singha
Durbar for six hours and released at 6 pm, after Shambhu's brother
Satish apologized before the CA member.

"We detained Shambhu as
it was reported that the CA member was assaulted," said Inspector Bir
Bahadur Budha. "We have released him as the CA member told us to do so."
