Thumbs up terobaaje!!!

When I was a kid - maasubhat was a treat. Bhuteko makai, bhuteko gahun, bhuteko bhatmaas were not my fav. Daal roti, daal bhat tarkaari were regular foods, but I thought, "that's normal". Then, in foreign land, chicken-leg pieces and rice were my favorite. That time was great. My friend taught me cooking chicken with soup, that substituted daal, and a used rice cooker for cooking bhaat. Occasional junk food substitutes like pizzas, burgers, tacos, and sandwitches;  self-sponsored treats at chinese, italians, continentals and mexican restaurents; sugary drinks cokes, soda, juices;  and regular Masubhaat at home started adding weight on me. Getting drunk (with beer, whisky and rum) with masubhaat, scrambled egg, chicken-fry and chips were weekend specials. After few months, I used to get embarrassed to see my old pictures, because I hated myself for being such a khyaute and paakhe, ha ha ha ha.

Then, one day, I visited a vegetarian friend, who cooked daal bhat tarkari for me. I realized that I was badly missing vegetables and daal. I then planned to add them in my regular meal, but, you know, it was more expensive than chicken. I gradually understood the luxury of having home-made "daal bhat tarkaari" regularly back in home.

These days, I also eat home-made Daal bhat tarkaari twice a day 7 days a week BY choice and I love it. I add "piro achar" on that, plus meat items a few days. However, I am thinking to abandon meat products and follow buddhism for further happiness and peace of mind.
