The allegations in this report regarding fleecing national exchequer is serious, especially if the accusation of charging more for publications is true. But so far these are just allegations.

But I don't see why it is wrong to have those books published. Prime minister's speeches and actions should be recorded. I think it is sad that we don't have such record from the past. Je kuro pani rajako jasto garyo bhanne hoina. MKN may not have done it with the best of interest of historians in his mind, but he is right that a PM's speeches/actions must be well recorded so that historians can judge him. In the USA, every county and its mayor do it: they publish these books, with the pictures of their family to give impression of a family man , and try to convince people that they did something significant during their tenure.

Kantipur is against MKN, it asked his resignation a few weeks ago, and Sudhir Sharma was appointed its chief editor with the intervention of Prachanda, everybody knows it. But I would like to give him--sharma-- a benefit of doubt and hope that he did report it to save country's money. I hope they do same regarding the money going to the Maoist militants.
