Bumped tooth
This causes trauma to the ligaments and nerve supply. Your symptoms suggests that the nerve has been severely effected, as you mentioned the tooth is off position too. This means the nerve inside is dying. The swelling in gum also directs to same conclusion. The tooth will go darker in long run.

Best short term remedy
Antibiotic therapy (Penicillin and/or Metronidizole works best)

Long term remedy
Possible root canal treatment followed by Crown placed on top

Problem with teeth does not goes away without being treated... so find a dentist.... I guess as suggested before... dental schools are cheaper than other !!!

(P.S. This suggestion is purely based on the symptoms reading, PLEASE consult professional before you do anything)

(NB: I am a practising Dental Care Professional in the UK)
