Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI),
which together with Professional Alliance for Peace and Democracy
(PAPAD) organized the successful peace rally in Kathmandu last week
following which the Unified CPN (Maoist) called off its general strike,
has called for immediate consensus among the political parties.

An
"emergency" meeting of the umbrella organisation of the business
community of the country on Thursday decided to exert additional
pressure on the political parties so that they reach a deal to end the
protracted deadlock that is pushing the country deepening crisis.

Among
many, FNCCI has warned that the business community will stop giving any
kind of donations or support to any political parties in the country if
they fail to forge a consensus to end the political deadlock by coming
Saturday.

The meeting also decided to stop paying taxes to the
government if the new constitution is not promulgated within the May 28
