hi neptey,

i did have to go for stamping last year in early spring and it went smooth so far.  the consular was a young guy, may be in his late 20s and all he talked to me was about the college football season and other random stuffs about where i live, why i am not married (may be most H1Bs in nepal also file for dependent as well ) , so i didnot feel like it was a visa interview.  But while i was waiting for my turn to be interviewed, i heard other consulars asking about the company background, the clients (if you are contractor) , the person you report to, his/her contact details etc .

and the documents I had with me were as follows ;

the H1B petition approval notice  and the copy of the filed petition ;

all the copies of the I-20 i held while in US  and OPT   ;

Offer Letter from my employer ;

All my Pay Stubs  and Bank statement for last 6 months ;

My tax returns for last two years ;

My credentials (Degrees, any professional certificates  etc ) ;

Some company documents and pictures ( to prove that it exists )

i think thats pretty much they ask for, but it varies by individual , so please check the standard requirements that they do have in the Embassy website for H1B visa and do accordingly  .

One additional suggestion : Once you are approved for H1B visa,  please go to the Foriegn Employment Division  at Baneshwor and get a "Work Permit " they call it "shram anumati patra" , and that will save u from the trouble at the airport in Nepal, otherwise u might have to spend some bucks .

Wish U all the best !
