40% of the rebel army—almost half of the rebels
that were fighting for ten years in the small mountainous country of
Nepal—were made up of women.

to own property, to seek justice in domestic abuse cases, and to become
equals in village governments. They believed they were fighting for a
better Nepal for themselves and their children.
