I am having a lot of trouble with filing my taxes. I am a student on F-1 but have been here in the US for more than 5 years. Last year I worked part-time for a non-profit research group throughout the year. I didn't have a fixed schedule per se but I worked similar number of hours each month that I reported at the end of month. I got paid hourly. They've sent me a 1099 Misc form for tax now. I also worked part-time at my Uni for which I got a W-2. I tried doing my taxes online using taxact, turbo tax etc but it shows that I owe about 2K in total in fed & state tax. I also paid my own tuition and the total amount that I earned is almost equal to what I paid for school. I have also sought help from an independent accountant, who actually calculated that I owed more (than what I had calculated). I am in real fix now since I don't have the money to pay the tax right now thats why I haven't even filled my taxes yet. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
