SO WE ARE NEAR TO 2012 DISASTER ? Volcanic ash continues to wreak travel chaos

predicting future disaster and end of the world stories have been by far one of the most lucrative business prospects of all time. 2012 end of the world prediction has been in the talks much like the 1994 end of the world buzz, 2000 Y2K bug etc. Throughout history there have been numerous attempts at the so called end of the world prediction and someone somewhere made huge profit out of it. Lets get back to the 2012 so called end of the world talk and ponder upon what Mayans actually have said vs the misinterpretation of the truth. Mayan calendar ending on 2012 dec 21st itself is not true.
The Mayan calendar does not end in December 2012. Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period, but then – just as your calendar begins again on January 1 - another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

Next point, did the Mayans really say in their scripture or records that the end of the calendar actually meant it is the end of the world?? is there any past predictions Mayans or otherwise have said and really happened? Every future prediction stuff i watch on TV or read about are about events that have already taken place or are about stuff that people don't really know if that's what the prophets were talking about and draw their own conclusions about it.
The only culture which predicted anything for 2012 was the Mayan culture, and all they predicted was that one of their calendar cycles would end. The others are convergence errors, as various crackpots interpret their crazy sources to come up with dates for things which sort of agree, a kind of bandwagon effect. There are no more earthquakes etc. going on now than at any other time; it's just that global communications has improved and these things get reported more now than they did in the past.

For any claims of disaster or dramatic changes in 2012, the burden of proof is on the people making these claims. Where is the science? Where is the evidence? There is none, and all the passionate, persistent and profitable assertions, whether they are made in books, movies, documentaries or over the Internet, cannot change that simple fact. There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.

Please wake up and think for yourself, look beyond this idiocy afloat and don't become a band wagoner.
