Yes, sadly, this is one concern that we all should seriously think about: a possible earthquick in Nepal??
Kathmandu is very much similar to Port-au-Prince (PAP) in many aspects. Both the cities are overly crowded (population has sky rocketed and is much more than the city is designed to handle in terms of service to be provided, medical needs, security, food and so on); many unsecured and old structures or "kachha" houses attached to one another or very closely built to one another; poor government and unstability.
God forbid, if anything like this or even similar to this rocks KTM, there will be huge casaulty, and rescue missions will be hard to conduct. So, people need to be educated about what to do and how to respond to, and be prepared (just in case) to combat a natural disaster like this.
