The earth's gravitational force is directed towards the CENTER of the earth therefore there is no sensation of hanging "down" at the southern hemisphere. The "down" will ALWAYS be towards the CENTER at ANY place (or hemisphere) on the earth's surface.
You can NOT compare this to ant hanging on a big round phantom globe coz in that case the force experienced by ants at the very bottom will be directed towards the center of the earth (down) which is directly opposite to the center of the hanging phantom globe and hence they will feel the hanging sensation (blood will flow towards head).
