I know its a stupid question but it never satisfied my curiosity from childhood. We know that the earth is round and its very very huge. But, if it is round how people living in southern hemisphere don't have to hang upside down? I know we read in geography class that they don't fall off due to earth's gravity. Ok, thats fine I accept it but what about the round feeling? Imagine we place a small ant in a very very large globe that the size of a building lets say. But even then the ant has to curve its body upside down when it goes to the bottom of the globe regardless of the size of the globe. Then how come people in the bottom (in south) don't have to do the same thing?
Was watching National Geo about Columbia tragedy 7 years back and all of a sudden this suppressed question came to my mind. Interestingly, one child has also asked similar question here:
