One can only understand themselves. He/She can only tell how much you loved from your end...how much you cared and how unconditional your love was towards the other party...but the other party may be thinking the same...However, true love is understanding how much the other person cared about you, how much he or she did for you and giving respect/ honor back to the person .

If you say...I loved that guy/girl but he/she cared about his/her family only and I still respect that but we are seperated  now because of bla bla bla....then you can see clearly see there was a problem in respecting each other's values. You both disagreed...and didnot respect each others value and hence are seperated. It may take ages to understand and accept this fact but if you do it quicker it may help you to gain your lost love. Doing this you will gain 2 things. Your lost love, and your respect/honor.

In true...if you love someone...you accept them with their values...with their morals, with what they are...you don't leave them until death does you apart! This is the true meaning of love.

There may be times when things maynot work out with each other and you may disagree to the thoughts that other party values most. There coudl be jealousy, trust issues, and so many more.....This is human nature. But understanding this and respecting each other's value will last your love forever and you never will have to complain against it. It is all on you...not on the other party.
