I fully agree with ss74k ...........you will not be the first couple if you are thakuri King Birendra &Bros and Queen Aishwarya & Sisters were grand children of Juddha Sumsher and in bahun Kathmandu's ex deputy mayor(elected not selected) married to her Bhandai same as your relations see they were accepted by not only family but also the people of the Kathmandu city voted her for the post of Deputy mayor of Kathmandu so do what you and your cosin's heart says dude its your life and you are not going back to live in Nepal anyway in the State who cares and who has time for gossip.
