I hate this caste politics...this is the main reason why Nepal is lagging
behind. Caste politics is a cheap topic for those sick people who have
hidden agenda on this. For instance, someone get minister seat on the
basis of some caste system but he/she hardly have any feeling for
disadvantaged community of that caste.  In Nepal, before you know any
person, you judge the person on the basis of his/her caste. I am a
bhramin and got married with a Newar girl. This is the best step I have
taken in life. I struggled 7 years to get married but it mean so much
in my life. I can clearly see the acceptance both my family and
family-in-law have for both cultures now. I personally celebrate all
Newari festivals and have started learning some Newari. I want to teach
Newari cultures to my kids. This is same with my wife. She does same
with bhramin culture. This is just a small world with two families. If
this contineous with all Nepalese, you will soon realize what a great
culture we have in our country. This will make a real new Nepal. We are
so desperate to celebrate Christmas, but have you really thought of
joining festivals of other ethnic group of Nepal. I don't say its bad
to celebrate Christmas, but try once to join festivals of other caste
and you will realize what you have inside your own country.
